The Shanghai Municipal Culture and Tourism Bureau and CSSC Cruise Technology Development Co Ltd held an event to unveil the name of the first domestically manufactured large cruise ship in Shanghai on Friday.

The event hosts said they have named the new ship "Adora Magic City" as Shanghai is often described as such by locals. The name also reflects how the ship was designed and built locally, as well as its commitment to providing travelers with a high-end travel experience.

Passengers of the ship will get to visit the world's largest tax-free shop on a vessel, have access to 5G internet, and enjoy musical performances and talk shows.

The vessel will be used on international routes to Japan and Southeast Asia, with Shanghai as the home port. Medium and long routes may also be launched in the future to take travelers to destinations along the Maritime Silk Road.
