Guangdong’s market supervision authorities have introduced 16 measures to promote innovative and high-quality development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The measures will include the improvement of the business environment, the building of an international technology and innovation center, promoting high-quality development and creating a favorable place for work, to live in and for travel.

According to the Guangdong Administration for Market Regulation, greater efforts will be made to standardize rules on market access, operation and exit between Guangdong and the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions. Research will help to formulate a framework on implementing competition policies in the Greater Bay Area.

The department will step up the construction of an intellectual property protection system in the Greater Bay Area and strengthen cross-border law enforcement in the field to combat illegal activities. It will also accelerate the pace of developing an industrial cluster of intellectual property-related professional services in the southern region and attract more professional talent.

Cooperation on food security equipment will also be enhanced. The market regulator said it will move faster to build a food standardization system and an inspection platform so that Guangdong and the two SARs can better trace the origins of food and share information.
