BEIJING – China's major stock indices ended the week on a higher note, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.18 percent to close at 3,539.10 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.04 percent higher at 14,705.37 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 1.1 trillion yuan (about 172 billion US dollars), down from 1.12 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Recently listed companies were among those that gained the most, while coal and cement firms lost the most.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.09 percent to close at 3,430.14 points.
