BEIJING – China's capacity for generating wind power expanded by 5.26 million kilowatts in the first quarter, according to the National Energy Administration.

The latest increase came from 4.03 million kilowatts in onshore wind power and 1.23 million kilowatts in offshore wind power.

After the expansion, China's total installed wind power capacity reached 287 million kilowatts at the end of the first quarter.
